These data are for vote in November 2000 for president and for candidates running for the U.S. House of Representatives.

The variables below pertain to the roll call voting behavior of members of the House of Representatives prior to the 2000 general election. Although more than 90% of the members were re-elected, not all were. Thus the names and parties of the members for the sset of variables below may differ slightly from the names and party affiliations for the variables above. That should not both most analyses that relate the voting behavior of House members to the way their districts vote for president.
