Requirements	See the Undergraduate Catalog,1999-2001 (pp. 110-111) for the authoritative statement of the requirements for majoring in the department. In summary, they are Ten quarter-courses in political science Three must be at the 200-level Seven must be at the 300-level. Of the seven 300-level courses, one must be in Research Methods (taken within the department; outside course no longer qualify) one must be 395--the Political Research Seminar. Five additional courses are required in related fields: Anthropology, economics, history, philosophy, psychology, or sociology of these five courses two must be at the 300 level. only one can be at the 100 level
Advising	Upon declaring a major in political science, students may request a faculty advisor to consult about their program of study. See the list of faculty by fields. Because of limits to the number of advisees per faculty member, not all requests can be honored.
