Northwestern University has two separate campuses
fronting on Lake Michigan, one in downtown Chicago and
the other in Evanston, an adjoining suburb, twelve miles
north. The downtown campus houses the Medical School,
Dental School, and the Law School. The Department of
Political Science is on the 230-acre campus in Evanston,
one of the gracious suburbs of the famed North Shore.
Evanston extends along three and one-half miles of Lake
Michigan shoreline, much of it shared with the
University's campus.
