Comparative and international political economy,
comparative politics, business-government relations under
contemporary capitalism, labor, human rights, and the
politics of post-colonial states particularly in
Southeast Asia. He is researching and writing a book
entitled ZONAL CAPITALISM, which examines the
extraordinary concentration of industrialization into
industrial estates and special economic zones, especially
in Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and
the Philippines.
He is also researching the implications of increasing
capital mobility on the balance of power between labor
and capital in advanced- industrial contexts as well as
the post-colonial world. His first book is entitled
Power in Motion: Capital Mobility and the Indonesian
State.
