Policy Research.
Comparative political economy and formal theory. He is
currently engaged in research on collective bargaining
institutions, wage policies, unemployment and welfare
programs in advanced industrial societies.
Publications include "Structural Dependence of State
on Capital" (co-authored with Adam Przeworski) and
"Union Organization in Advanced Industrial
Democracies," both in the American Political Science
Review, "Centralized Bargaining and Wage
Restraint" in the American Journal of Political
Science, "Trade Union Behavior, Pay Bargaining, and
Economic Performance" (Oxford University Press)
co-authored with Robert (Flanagan and Karl Moene),
"Unions, Employers' Associations and Wage-Setting
Institutions in North and Central Europe" in the
Industrial and Labor Relations Review (co-authored with
Miriam Golden and Peter Lange) and "Pay
Inequality" in the Journal of Labor Economics
