Amy
E. Searight's research and teaching interests are in
international political economy and Japan. Her
dissertation, MITI and Multilateralism: The Evolution of
Japan's Trade Policy in the GATT Regime, examines changes
in Japan's multilateral trade behavior brought about by
the interaction of international and domestic trade
institutions. She has also written on the political
determinants of US-Japan trade disputes. Professor
Searight has been a visiting scholar at the Institute of
Fiscal and Monetary Policy in the Ministry of Finance,
Japan, and an advanced research fellow at the Program on
U.S.-Japan Relations at Harvard University.
