Return to Faculty List William Reno Ph.D. University of Wisconsin Associate Professor William Reno came to Northwestern after five years at Florida International University. A specialist in African politics and the politics of "collapsing states," he is the author of Corruption and State Politics in Sierra Leone (Cambridge, 1995) and Warlord Politics and African States (Lynne Rienner Publishers, 1998). His current work examines violent commercial organizations in Africa, the former Soviet Union, and the Balkans, and their relationships to state power and global economic actors.
