Sara Monoson Ph.D.

Associate Professor; Political theory
Her teaching and research interests include ancient Greek
democratic thought and practice, democracy theory, and
gender and politics. She is coordinator of the Political
Theory Workshop. She is completing a book entitled,
Siting Plato: Athenian Democratic Life and the
Practice of Philosophy (forthcoming from Princeton).
Her articles on Thucydides and Plato have appeared in
Political Theory and an edited volume entitled,
Athenian Political Thought and the Renewal of American
Democracy. Her Earlier work on women, US politics
before suffrage, was published in The Journal of
Women's History.
