Dennis Chong Ph.D.

American national politics, public opinion, collective
action. He has written articles on a range of subjects
including ideology, norms, democratic values, reputation,
coordination problems, and social movements. His book,
Collective Action and the Civil Rights Movement, won the
1993 Political Economy book award from the American
Political Science Association. He is co-editor of the
Cambridge University Press book series on Political
Psychology and Public Opinion. He is now studying whether
beliefs and values stem from rational
processes.
